Washington, DC, December 20, 2017 – The Fiscal Policy Task Force of the Consortium for Citizens with Disabilities, the nation's largest national organization representing over 56 million individuals with disabilities, is deeply disappointed by the House and Senate passage of the conference agreement on the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

CCD Letter Opposing Tax Cuts and Jobs Act Conference Agreement
The undersigned organizational members of the Consortium for Citizens with Disabilities (CCD) write to strongly oppose the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act as passed out of both the House and Senate. CCD is the largest coalition of national organizations working together to advocate for federal public policy that ensures the self-determination, independence, empowerment, integration, and inclusion of children and adults with disabilities in all aspects of society.

The House and the Senate are now working through a conference committee to resolve the differences between the versions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act passed by House and the Senate (see differences between the bills). Both the House and Senate have appointed conferees (see below for list) that are working to come up with a bill that can pass both the House and the Senate.

Washington, DC, December 5, 2017 - Early on December 2, the Senate narrowly passed the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. The Fiscal Policy Task Force of the Consortium for Citizens with Disabilities (CCD) is extremely disappointed by this vote and concerned about the long-term negative impact a final bill will have on the lives of people with disabilities and their families.

Washington DC, October 20, 2017 - The Fiscal Policy Task Force of the Consortium for Citizens with Disabilities (CCD), a national coalition of more than 100 national disability organizations, is deeply concerned about yesterday’s passage of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2018 Senate Budget Resolution. The sole purpose of the budget is to provide a path to a massive tax cut plan using the reconciliation process, which permits the bill to pass with a simple majority in the Senate.

While this budget does not address substantial parts of the federal budget and provides remarkably little detail, it is clear that many of the changes it proposes would have dire consequences on people with disabilities, their families, and service providers.
